Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana, 50, recalls her ‘feeling of emptiness’ after the devastating miscarriage of their stillborn son Rocky

Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana recently opened up about the heartbreak she felt after miscarrying their stillborn son Rocky.

The 50-year-old mother of six was five months pregnant when she lost her son Rocky in 2016.

In her podcast Happy Mum Happy Baby by Giovanna Fletcher, the mother revealed that she had suffered from a bleeding problem during her pregnancy and was monitored for several weeks.

However, Tana told Giovanna that the bleeding got much worse and she ended up going back to the hospital.

She said, “I kind of leaned over to talk to Gordon. And then my waters broke. It was like, ‘Everything’s fine, we’re just going to keep an eye on you, ‘Cause the baby’s going to be born, and that was the most traumatic thing ever.’

“There were parts I can barely remember. Because I tucked it away, I never had a miscarriage.”

‘I remember them saying to me, “There’s nothing more we can do, you’ve got to give birth,” and I remember Gordon looking at me and saying, “I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying here for this.”‘

Tana also talked about how to cope with the loss and how to explain this to their other children.

She said, “He was just the perfect little boy.”

“But it’s like this teeny tiny doll. And I remember when they came in after Jack said, ‘Did I have a brother or a sister?’ I said, ‘Oh, it was a brother,’ and that was really hard.”

“It’s that feeling of emptiness and the next morning you leave the hospital and you still don’t have a baby.”

During the podcast, Tana admitted that she found it hard to take on most of the childcare duties, and that it was sometimes hard to watch her husband relax, even though they both agreed that she would take on most of the duties while he worked.

While discussing whether their previous arrangement worked for her, Tana said, “Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you don’t resent it sometimes.”

“When I say resentment, sometimes I think, ‘Do you need to sit on the couch, rest, watch the news, and have 10 minutes to yourself? Because I can’t do that.’”

She continued: ‘I’d be lying if I said, “No, it’s fine, I took this on.” Sometimes it was really hard, but you get over it.’

Tana also discussed her and Gordon’s fertility issues with Giovanna and explained why he wasn’t present at the births of their first three children.

She said: ‘He would have been completely sick and probably passed out, and all the attention would have been on him. I thought, no, this is my moment.’

The mother told Giovanna that after the loss of their son Rocky everything had changed and they had decided he had to be there.

She said, “I don’t know what changed. He just wanted to be there. I thought it would be nice. It was after what we went through with losing Rocky.”

Tana’s birthday comes after Netflix has confirmed that Gordon will get his own documentary seriesfollowing in the footsteps of his good friend David.

An article on Netflix’s Tudum website announced the news: ‘Over the past two decades, Gordon Ramsay has made a name for himself in the kitchen and on television.

‘The multi-Michelin star chef has trained with some of the world’s best chefs and has led successful kitchens of all ages around the world.

On August 21, it was announced that Gordon will star in a new documentary series that follows the run-up to his biggest restaurant venture to date: the opening of five culinary experiences in London’s second-tallest building, 22 Bishopsgate.

The series is set over nine months and offers exclusive access to the Ramsay family as Gordon juggles his various work commitments with life as husband to his wife Tana and father to their six children.

‘This project is produced by Studio Ramsay Global, a FOX Entertainment Company. It is directed by Dionne Bromfield, with executive producers Amanda Westwood, Deborah Sargeant and Lisa Edwards and production director Jess Holder.’

A source told The Sun: ‘Gordon isn’t exactly a shy and reserved type, so this will be a series with no holds barred and no flaws.’

‘Expect more than a few swear words, but cameras will follow him in and out of the kitchen in preparation for the opening of his newest restaurant early next year.

“His wife, Tana, and the kids are expected to make cameos. People will see a whole new side of Gordon.”

The source added that those involved felt it was a good time to take action, given the huge success of the kitchen series The Bear.

It was also recently announced that Gordon is taking his reputation as a culinary star to the Las Vegas Grand Prix by opening a pop-up restaurant costing £28,000 per person.

Ramsay will transform a Formula 1 garage into ‘Ramsay’s Garage’ during the 2027 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Ramsay will open its doors during the race, which takes place on November 21, and will reportedly offer a “new culinary experience.”

For a price of £28,000 per person, guests will also get access to the paddock, pitlane walks and guided track tours, as well as a meal while mingling with the stars.

Sources have said celebrities including Tom Cruise and Rihanna have been invited to cook alongside Ramsay. The chef also wanted James Corden to join his venture, but he is busy with filming commitments for the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special.

An insider said: ‘Gordon wants people like Tom and Rihanna, he wants big names and also people who would like to go to the Grand Prix. Rihanna went last year, Tom too. The plan is for the A-listers to join him and make a trail or something.’

“He’s so, so excited.”

The chef, who is known for his passion for the sport, will showcase three culinary themes over several evenings. One evening will be inspired by the United Kingdom and will be called the Cool Britania evening.

The second evening features a pop-up restaurant from Chef Ramsay, the Lucky Cat restaurant, an Asian-inspired ‘eatery’ based on the cafes of 1930s Tokyo.

Several ‘surprise’ guests are expected and on Sunday Ramsay will serve a traditional lunch.
