‘Good Morning Football’ will relaunch on July 29 with a daily weekday show, the streaming program ‘GMFB: Overtime’

They are joined on both programs by Akbar Gbajabiamila, a four-year NFL veteran who spent eight years as an analyst for the NFL Network from 2012 to 2019 and hosted American Ninja Warrior since 2013, and Sherree Burruss, who joined the NFL Network team in February 2023, relocating from Washington, D.C., to deliver news updates and various segments.

“Not only are we bringing back a show that so many fans have enjoyed for years, but we’re also giving it a new, state-of-the-art home with even more resources and space for our talent to showcase their signature segments and fun interpretations of the game of football,” said Angela Ellis, vice president of original content and entertainment at NFL Media, who will oversee the show’s brand in LA.

Just like when it debuted on August 1, 2016, Good Morning Football returns to the screens at the perfect time, with all 32 teams taking part in the first stages of training camp in full preparation for the upcoming season.

There will be countless storylines to discuss, from position battles and injuries to surprising pre-season favourites, and GMFB will do so with the same charm as almost ten years ago. GMFB: Overtime will also be combined with a closer look at the lighter fare surrounding the country’s most popular sport.

In a few weeks, the show returns to sunny Los Angeles, directly across from SoFi Stadium and, as always, focused on all things NFL.
