Saturday was Moving Day at the men’s Olympic golf tournament at Le Golf National. The third round saw many low scores.

Spaniard Jon Rahm and American Xander Schauffele top the leaderboard at 14 under par, just before the final day of competition.

Rahm birdied three of the last five holes for a 5-under day, while Schauffele’s only blemish on the round was a bogey on the second hole. Rahm’s long birdie on No. 17 helped him share the lead.

The round of the day went to Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard, who equalled his twin brother Rasmus’ course record with a score of 9 under par.

Højgaard is currently tied for fourth at 11-under.

As for the French team of Matthieu Pavon and Victor Perez, the results have been mixed in three rounds. Perez, who had the honor of teeing off on Thursday, is tied for 14th at 8-under. Pavon is in last place at 10-over par.

Golf is back for its third consecutive Olympic Games. After being an event at the 1900 and 1904 Olympics, it didn’t return until Rio 2016.

Both the men’s and women’s tournaments have 72 holes of stroke play. There is no cut, so each of the 60 men and 60 women participating can play all four rounds.

The men’s tournament ends on Sunday, August 4, and the women’s tournament ends on Saturday, August 10. Nelly Korda (USA) is the reigning women’s gold medalist.
