God of War star Christopher Judge slams Amazon exec for ‘not really acting’ in video game AI defense, praises The Last of Us 2 performance

Christopher Judge, the actor behind Kratos in Sony Santa Monica’s God of War games, has joined the growing chorus of voices protesting controversial comments defending AI in video games by Amazon Games CEO Christoph Hartmann.

Amid strikes by SAG-AFTRA members against some of the world’s most prominent game developers seeking greater AI protections, Hartmann told IGN that he’d like to see more AI used to speed up development processes. He also said that the technology “could help us come up with new gameplay ideas” and isn’t about taking away human jobs. He explained that last part by saying that “we don’t really act” in video games, which is the core of what so many in the industry are upset about.
