Giants’ Daniel Jones Trolled By NFL Fans For Pick-6 Against Texans After Tom Brady Joke | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats & Rumors

It took four pitches in his 2024 preseason debut for the New York Giants for Tom Brady to prove himself right.

The Giants quarterback made a terrible decision when he was tackled in his own end zone, forcing a throw to Theo Johnson. Texans cornerback Jalen Pitre intercepted the ball, setting up the easiest touchdown of his life.

That decision came three passes after Jones attempted a pick-six to Derek Stingley Jr. on his first attempt of the game, but Stingley was unable to get his hands on the ball.

This all happened a day after Tom Brady used Jones as an example of a quarterback who could theoretically throw an interception during a game during a panel at Fanatics Fest in New York City.

Brady spoke this into existence…..lol
“Let’s say Daniel Jones throws an interception,” Brady said before being interrupted by laughter from the crowd.
As Brady tried to backtrack, he seemed to realize how the comment came across.
“I didn’t mean it that way. I wasn’t…

As you might expect, fans had fun at Jones’ expense after Brady unintentionally (or maybe not?) challenged him.

With apologies to the Giants fans who had to endure this, things didn’t get better for Jones after that blunder. On their next possession, the offense appeared to have found a bit of a rhythm. The Giants picked up three first downs, including one on a 14-yard reception by Malik Nabers, but the drive ended with another interception when Jones tried to force the ball to Jalin Hyatt deep along the sideline.

Jones finally showed some signs of encouragement on the Giants’ fourth drive of the game, throwing beautifully to Darius Slayton for 44 yards and setting up a touchdown run by Devin Singletary two plays later.

It was easy to dismiss last season’s offensive woes as a bad offensive line. To be clear, that unit still doesn’t look great based on early preseason results.

But Jones not being able to help the situation consistently can lead to a lot of problems for the offense. A starting quarterback entering his sixth season shouldn’t be making the throws he did that resulted in a turnover and near-turnover.

The pressure is mounting for general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll after a 6-11 record last season. If the Giants have another difficult season, major changes could take place throughout the organization.
