GHS school shooter charged with aggravated assault

Nov. 24—A Houston woman accused of trying to shoot a Greenville ISD athletic department employee in July was charged last week with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Forty-four-year-old Tekeysha Letoya McCloud was arrested in Dallas on July 9 by school district police and transported to the Hunt County Detention Center. She posted $105,000 bail and was released from jail on July 12. She was also charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon in a restricted area.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 in the afternoon on July 9, when McCloud went to the Roy “Q” Traylor Athletic Facility at Greenville High School and fired a single shot at the staff member, an assistant coach for the Lions football team. The coach was let go by the district.
