Geralt is in Witcher 4, but “the game won’t focus on him”

The Witcher is back, apparently. Geralt of Rivia will at least be making an appearance in The Witcher 4, as the voice actor behind the character has said that the White Wolf will be appearing in the game, codenamed Polaris.

Geralt voice actor Doug Cockle, spotted by GamesRadar, spoke candidly about The Witcher 4 in a video with Fall Damage on YouTube. “Witcher 4 has been announced. I can’t say anything about it yet,” Cockle said. “What we know is that Geralt will be in the game. We just don’t know how much, and the game won’t be focused on Geralt, so it’s not about him this time.”

As for who the game is about, Cockle claims he doesn’t know. He then seems to backtrack a bit, saying, “I haven’t seen a script. I can’t tell you if I’ve seen it. This is the thing, so I could lie. But I won’t, or will I?”

The Witcher 4 won’t just be “Witcher 3 in a new guise,” CD Projekt Red joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski said earlier this year. More specifically, Nowakowski said that we can expect “new gameplay elements and new mechanics” that weren’t in the original trilogy starring Geralt.

There are currently over 400 people working on The Witcher 4 game, which means the majority of CD Projekt Red. For more, check out everything we know so far about The Witcher 4.
