George W. Bush, Ron Washington and others pay tribute to baseball journalist Gerry Fraley

Gerry Fraley, a longtime baseball journalist who has worked for The Dallas Morning News will be recognized for more than 25 years in the National Baseball Hall of Fame this weekend in Cooperstown, NY

He was posthumously named the 2024 winner of the Baseball Writers Association of America Career Excellence Award. Fraley died in 2019 at age 64 after a two-year battle with cancer. He is the third former DMN baseball writer to win the award, following Tracy Ringolsby and Tim Kurkjian.

Former Dallas Morning News sportswriter Gerry Fraley will be honored during the opening weekend of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown.
