Geelong Jets sign bowls world champion Paul Foster

GEELONG’S Bowls Premier League (BPL) side have unveiled renowned Scottish world lawn bowls champion Paul Foster as the first signing for the new team.

The Geelong Jets, based at Ocean Grove Bowling Club, are preparing for their first season in the BPL, and Foster – a celebrated figure in the world of lawn bowls – will have an impressive track record to show for it.

A 13-time World Indoor Champion and four-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Foster’s exceptional skills and competitive spirit have made him a formidable opponent on the international stage.

The Geelong Jets say Foster’s signing demonstrates the team’s commitment to excellence and ambition to make a strong impact in the BPL, Australia’s flagship television and spectator sport.

BPL20 starts in November.

“I am honored to be part of the Geelong Jets and compete in the BPL. I have wanted to be part of this prestigious event for some time and now have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the Geelong Jets,” said Foster.

“I look forward to bringing my experience as we strive for great achievements together.”

The Geelong Jets announced the arrival of Foster today (Saturday 29 June).

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Paul Foster to the Geelong Jets,” said Matt Flapper, general manager of bowls development at Ocean Grove Bowling Club.

“Paul’s expertise and achievements in the lawn bowls industry are unmatched and his presence on our team will undoubtedly take our performance to the next level.

“We are confident that his leadership and experience will inspire and motivate our players as we embark on our BPL experience.

“Paul is one of the best, we can’t wait to see him in action for the Jets.”
