Gavin and Stacey star Alison Steadman reveals horrific sexual assault at age 16 by her drama teacher who threatened to rape and kill her

Alison Steadman has revealed the horrific sexual assault she experienced at the age of 16.

The Gavin and Stacey star, 78, explained how one day in the 1980s, as she walked through Euston Station, she came face to face with the man who had terrorized her.

The actress confronted her former drama teacher, who had threatened to rape and kill her 20 years earlier, according to The Mirror.

The man had told Alison at the time that no one would believe her and it was only at that moment in London that she was able to confront the monster, walk up to him and demand that he remember her.

She told him she had never forgiven him for what he did to her in Sefton Park all those years ago.

Despite the actress enjoying a successful career, her first taste of performing was at a youth theater club in Liverpool, where she grew up.

And while many of the teachers were excellent and she considered the club a safe place, there were sometimes guest teachers for weeks at a time.

And it was one of these guest teachers who changed the star’s life and burdened her with the “constant weight” of the memory of those sexual attacks.

The teacher offered the star a lift home one evening and despite Alison’s refusals, he persisted.

And so 16-year-old Alison got into the teacher’s car, and instead of dropping her off at her home in Anfield, he drove her to the remote woodlands of Sefton Park.

It was in the dark forest where the teacher groped her and described in graphic detail what he wanted to do to her.

When Alison threatened to tell the teachers at the youth club, her attacker responded that no one would believe her, adding that he could “kill you and dump your body in the park.” No one would know it was me.”

Reflecting on her difficult experiences, Alison said: 'The shame and embarrassment I have carried has been a constant burden.'

After a horrific hour, he drove her home as if nothing had happened, but the shocked star was too scared to tell her parents and it’s a decision that has haunted her all her life.

Many years later, after landing a leading role in Cars Z, the Pride and Prejudice actress was bullied by a female director who was so critical of her performance in front of the cameras that Alison became paralyzed with fear and cried before going to work .

And things got even worse for the star after she was sexually assaulted by a crew member from the same TV show.

The man took Alison on a detour in his car after a day on set and “tried to retouch me in every way possible.”

She added, “I could almost hear him say, ‘You know you want it,’ which I definitely didn’t. It was terrifying.’

When Alison shouted at him to stop, he drove away and dropped her off at the nearest train station.

Reflecting on her difficult experiences, Alison said: “The shame and embarrassment I have carried has been a constant burden.

‘This and my time at Z Cars have remained vivid memories that have disturbed my peace of mind.

Alison also expressed her frustration watching those people build successful careers while being plagued by worries and doubts and the weight of those experiences.
