Garrett Shadbolt wins round 1 of Cheyenne Frontier Days

Garrett Shadbolt of Merriman, Nebraska won the bareback riding in the first rodeo held at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Shadbolt defeated his opponents with an 85.5 point ride at United Pro Rodeo’s Big Apple.

Shadbolt’s success on Saturday took him through to the semi-finals, which will take place on July 26 and 27.

The “Daddy of ’em All” takes the top six competitors from each quarterfinal to the semifinal. Shadbolt will fight for his place in the final on Sunday, July 28th to compete for the championship title.

Shadbolt has qualified for the National Finals Rodeo twice and is currently ranked No. 10 in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association world standings.
