Bale, handicap 2, is joined by other famous athletes such as charismatic NFL quarterback John Elway, winner of two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos; Ruud Gullit or the surfing legend Kelly Slater.

Among the professionals who will play in the tournament, the presence of Matt Fitzpatrick, Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry stands out. The former Real Madrid forward, a passionate fan of this sport, already shone in 2023 at Pebble Beach AT&T, the other major tournament in the world that is held under this format and counts for the PGA Tour.

Days before this event, the Welshman’s performances at the clubs led Rahm to praise him. “I said to Gareth: ‘You can’t be so good at professional football and golf at the same time, that doesn’t seem fair to me,'” he said. Bale, winner of three leagues and five champions at Real Madrid, has never hidden his passion for golf to the point that he built three golf holes at home, simulating the 12th at Augusta, the Postage Stamp at Troon and the 17th at Sawgrass.

The Dunhill Links is a tournament that counts towards the DP World Tour, in which a professional and an amateur alternately form a team over the three courses for the first three days. The top 60 professionals and the top 20 duos will compete against each other again on Sunday in the cradle of golf on St.

Andrew. The rules of golf are relatively complicated compared to other sports because they are played outdoors, close to nature and animals. Respecting the rules is a basic element in the game of golf, which, almost always based on self-control and the free conscience of the players, often sees distorted results, sometimes consciously, but often unconsciously or through carelessness, due to the failure of many players adhere to the rules of the game.

In addition to the rules, golf adheres to a code of conduct, called etiquette, which generally means that the game is played with respect for the golf course and other players. Etiquette is an essential part of this sport.
