Gangula Kamalakar condemns the attack on Kaushik Reddy-Telangana Today

Kamalakar, who visited Kaushik Reddy at the hospital in Karimnagar, asked what was wrong with protesting when the state government had denied dalits their rightful financial support

Karimnagar: Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar condemned the police attack on Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy. He wanted the government to take action against the police personnel who attacked the MLA and the Dalits who protested.

Kamalakar, who visited Kaushik Reddy at the hospital in Karimnagar, asked what was wrong with protesting when the state government had denied dalits their rightful financial support. Even as they protested peacefully, the police attacked the MLA and the dalits, some of whom were injured, he said, adding that some dalit protesters were kicked by the police.

This kind of violent culture has never been witnessed in Telangana, he said and demanded that the Chief Minister and the Speaker should respond to the incident and take action against the guilty police personnel. It was the responsibility of the Speaker to protect the rights of MLAs, he said.
