Freddie Prinze Jr. Gives Promising Update on Launching His Wrestling Promotion

It’s do or die for Freddie Prinze Jr.’s long-in-development wrestling promotion — at least for this year. Speaking on his “Wrestling with Freddie” podcast, the former WWE writer gave an update on the current status, and while nothing is set in stone just yet, he has reason to be optimistic.

“I’m a lot closer to the finish line than I am to the starting line, and I’m a lot closer to a ‘yes’ than a ‘no,’ although a ‘no’ can still happen, and my dream can be crushed. If it doesn’t work out with this place, then it’s done for at least this year, and I’ll have to start over and find another way to make it work in the future.”

Prinze Jr. spoke extensively about his progress, revealing that he’s had positive conversations with the head of a network that wants to bring his dream to life. However, the network is part of a larger project whose bosses need to give the go-ahead. The good news, however, is that the “Scooby Doo” star may have some exciting news to share in the next episode of “Wrestling with Freddie.” At the same time, he may also have some bad news to share.

“Once the process is complete, I would like to share with you the places I went to, what I found, and I can tell you more about the promotion, what it entails, how we are going to approach it and in what style.”

While he keeps his ideas under wraps, Prinze Jr. has shared some of the plans he has in mind for his wrestling promotion. The former WWE writer wants to create a two-hour show and create reality-based storylines. He also wants the show to be involved with the Screen Actors Guild.
