FPL Team of the Week and Tips: Go All Out for Erling Haaland and Man City in Fantasy Premier League

Ben Brereton Diaz, Southampton, midfielder, £5.5m – home to Nottingham Forest Apart from the aggression he caused when he sent off Newcastle’s Fabian Schar, the Chilean forward could easily have scored last Saturday.

He scored a host of goals for Blackburn in the Championship and proved his worth in the Premier League with six goals in 14 games at the end of last season while on loan at Sheffield United.

Two shots in the box and two big chances promised his first start for Saints, before coming up against Nottingham Forest, who kept just four clean sheets last season.

Diogo Jota, Liverpool, midfielder, £7.5m – home to Brentford It’s once again a choice between Salah and Haaland in this team, but there isn’t enough money to have both.

Jota could replace Salah at home to Brentford this week after scoring on the opening day when playing as a striker in a different position.

The Portuguese forward has scored more than a goal every two games when he starts a game in the last two seasons – his problem has been playing minutes and staying fit. He is fit now, so he goes straight into midfield.

Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth, midfielder, £5.5m – home v Newcastle In the absence of Dominic Solanke and with newcomer Evanilson on the bench, Semenyo led the attack against Wolves.

He played as a striker and had five shots on target, two on target, one big chance and one goal.

Semenyo could play one more game up front before Evanilson is slowly eased into the team, if not he will likely play one of the wide positions and be a fantastic goal threat for his price.

Erling Haaland, Manchester City, striker, £15m (captain) – home to Ipswich No fuss here. The best striker in the game, a full pre-season behind them, at home against a promoted team.

There are no underlying stats needed to back this up – we know Haaland can score three or more on his day. If you don’t own him, hide behind the bench. If you do, slap the captain’s armband on him!

Rodrigo Muniz, Fulham, striker, £6m – home to Leicester Muniz didn’t play that great against Manchester United on Friday, but don’t let that put you off.

Fulham were unlucky not to get a result at Old Trafford and still played some good football.

Brazilian striker Muniz scored a goal every two games as a starter last season and a home game against promoted Leicester offers the chance to continue that streak.
