Four Farmingdale State student-athletes selected to academic all-district at-Large team

FULL ACADEMIC RELEASE FOR THE ALL DISTRICT, BIG TEAM


FARMINGDALE, NY | College Sports Communicators announced the 2023-24 Academic All-District At-Large teams Tuesday afternoon, and four Farmingdale State College student-athletes received honors: women’s lacrosse defenders Dominique Baldino (Sr.; Island Park, NY) and Lucienne Horrocks (Jr.; Rutland, Vt.), senior men’s golf Mackenzie Kim (E. Quogue, NY), and senior men’s lacrosse midfielder Kyle Kolano (Babylon, NY).

Academic All-District® honorees were eligible for promotion to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, and organization members will vote on those teams in the coming week. NCAA and NAIA Women’s At-Large Academic All-America® first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. The Men’s At-Large Teams will be announced on Wednesday, July 17.

Baldino, a visual communications major, was a second-team All-Skyline Conference pick who, along with Horrocks, played on a Rams defense that helped the team to a Skyline Conference title and an NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship berth. She picked up 20 ground balls while forcing 13 turnovers, in addition to scoring one goal in transition.

Horrocks is an Aviation Administration major, and the Farmingdale State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member picked up 16 loose balls while adding four for turnovers and one assist in her junior campaign.

Kim, a two-time Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Region selection, is a Business Management major who was instrumental in Farmingdale State’s 18th-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship. A year ago, he a GCAA Scholar All-American and in each of his three seasons with the Rams he was a first-team All-Skyline Conference selection. Kim averaged 75.4 strokes per round for the Rams this season.

Kolano, who recently earned Scholar All-American honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), scored 63 goals and 27 assists during his two-year FSC career. He was a first-team All-Skyline Conference honoree for a Rams team that went 16-4, won the program’s first Skyline Conference title and advanced to the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship game. He led FSC’s midfielders with 42 goals and 58 points while playing all 20 games on Farmingdale State’s first attacking midfield line. Kolano, a professional communications major, scored three goals in extra-man situations this season.
