Former UTA Guard Vining signs professional contract with Jämtland Basket of the Swedish Basketball League

ARLINGTON, Texas – Former UT Arlington Mavericks guard Akili Vining has signed a foreign professional contract with KFUM Jämtland Basket of the Swedish Basketball League (SBL).

This comes with just over three months to go until the start of the 2024-25 season, in which Vining will play for the Moose, who are based in Östersund, Sweden. The SBL is Sweden’s top basketball league.

The Fort Worth native played in 34 games, 15 of which came in his lone season with the Mavs. Vining averaged 6.7 points per game, 2.4 assists per game and 2.4 rebounds per game in 22 minutes per game.
