Former S Club star Hannah Spearritt is embarking on a new life abroad in a huge career change

Former S Club singer Hannah Spearritt is planning to leave the UK and move to Costa Rica to start over with her partner Adam Thomas after an inspiring trip in 2018

Hannah Spearritt plans to turn her back on showbiz to build a new life in Costa Rica

After a series of setbacks, Hannah Spearritt is now making plans to leave the UK and build a new life in Costa Rica.

The 43-year-old star, who became a household name when she joined S Club, is currently planning to pursue a career in farming with her partner Adam Thomas. Her move comes after she visited the Central American country in 2018 and found herself in a life-changing moment.

It was the impetus for her decision to set up her café Earth & Fire in Twickenham in 2022. Sadly, the eatery has not flourished. A source told The Sun: “It’s the latest in a series of setbacks. The new plan is to sell everything and move to Costa Rica to make a living off the land.”

Hannah and Adam, who have two children together, aged five and three, had been looking at building a community in Costa Rica. She said: “That’s the dream, to move to Costa Rica and buy some land or a farm and live a simple life with the girls.” The star’s spokesperson confirmed the cafe was for sale.

Hannah Spearritt to join Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins

Last month it was revealed that the TV personality will be testing herself when she joins the line-up of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Hannah, who also appeared in ITV’s Dancing On Ice, is expected to appear on the military show later this year. Speaking on the ice skating show earlier this year, Hannah revealed that tragedy struck just three hours before she was due to take to the ice.

She told This Morning: “I’m glad I got out of it in one piece, you know what I mean? I can watch it on the sofa next Sunday. It’s been great to learn that skill. Yeah, it’s really dangerous. Anything can go wrong. Mine went wrong three hours ago. It wasn’t anything serious, but it’s a reminder that anything can go wrong at any time. It’s just a lot to think about with every move, to make sure it’s right.”

A source told The Sun: “Hannah is a fantastic addition to the show.” It comes after rumours emerged that footballer Troy Deeney is set to join the show, following in the footsteps of Wayne Bridge, John Fashanu and Jermaine Pennant. A source told the publication: “The competitive nature of footballers seems to lend itself to being involved. Troy is likely to discuss some of the most disturbing aspects of his life in the interview room with the instructors.”

Historically, during extreme challenges, celebrities often reveal deep-seated issues. Danielle Lloyd, who had been on the show, spoke about her time with instructor Jason “Foxy” Fox. She told Yahoo News, “I said to Foxy when we were doing that wire one where we had to fall, I was like, ‘I’d rather give birth five more times than do that.’ And he said, ‘Oh, you’re crazy!'”
