Former ONE Championship Strawweight King Jarred Brooks Calls Jon Jones the Perfect Fighter

Jarred Brooks has enjoyed a lot of success since leaving the UFC and signing with ONE Championship, where he currently competes at strawweight.

After losing his belt by disqualification at ONE 166 earlier this year, he returns at ONE Fight Night 24 in an interim title fight against Gustavo Balart. In the meantime, Brooks recently put together his perfect fighter in an interview with FightWave.

He chose the athletes he would combine to create an unbeatable force of nature, based on names of certain fighters who were known for their specialist skills…

Jarred Brooks says picking Jon Jones for every category would make for a perfect fighter

Brooks started his own specialty, wrestling, where he picked two names who would also compete in ONE championship.

Garry Tonon was one of the best submission grapplers in the world before making the switch to MMA, a journey that Kade Ruotolo has also recently embarked on.

Brooks has said multiple times that his dream fight would be against the legendary Demetrious Johnson, who is the flyweight champion in ONE. He picked both “Mighty Mouse” and Merab Dvalishvili for cardio.

On the boxing ring, he mentioned two featherweights who could fight each other in the near future, while Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway continue to argue on social media.

Brooks also didn’t need long to decide which fighter he wanted to bring into their kicking game. He chose the best of all time: Jon Jones.

After adding “Bones” to his “create-a-fighter,” Brooks said the correct answer to that question would actually be to choose the UFC heavyweight champion for each category.

“But it’s Jon Jones, period. 100 percent, and I’ve been following him since I was 12.”

Jones has held the UFC heavyweight title since making his divisional debut in Las Vegas last March, where he quickly defeated Ciryl Gane.

The Rochester native is expected to make his first defense against Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden in November, a year after their canceled showdown in New York City.
