Former NFL player Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones arrested after Paul-Tyson fight in Arlington

DALLAS – Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones is charged with public intoxication and assault on a peace officer after he was arrested early Saturday morning in Arlington.

TMZ obtained a video allegedly showing Jones’ arrest and published it Saturday morning. The video shows Jones being handcuffed by several police officers. Jones appeared at the Arlington city jail during a search. Records show he was booked into the jail early Saturday morning and faces charges of public intoxication, assault on a peace officer, evading arrest and resisting arrest.

According to Arlington police, an off-duty Arlington police officer working at the Live by Loews hotel, near AT&T Stadium, was notified by hotel security around 1 a.m. Saturday morning that a fight had broken out in the bar.

When the officer arrived, the individuals involved in the fight, including Jones, had already been separated. Jones continued to approach and yelled at the others involved in the fight, police said, causing the off-duty officer to step between them and tell Jones he would be arrested if he tried to fight again.

A short time later, another fight involving Jones broke out inside the bar, police said. As the officer and hotel security worked to separate the people involved, Jones punched the officer in the arm, police said.

Police said the officer called for help, and as she attempted to handcuff Jones, he was released and walked away. Several officers then helped him with the arrest.

In the video, Jones wears the same outfit he wore in an Instagram post late Friday.

Jones appeared to be in North Texas for the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight, which took place Friday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington and was streamed live on Netflix. Several posts on his Instagram Story show him discussing the fight, including one in which he poses for a photo with AT&T Stadium in the background.

A representative for Jones told TMZ that Jones denied the allegations against him.

“Like thousands of other people in Dallas last night, Pac was in town for the fight and enjoyed it and spent time with the fans,” the rep told TMZ. Pacman returned to his hotel to unwind for the evening. He wasn’t looking for trouble.”

Jones, 41, played 12 seasons as a cornerback and return specialist in the NFL. He spent most of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played one season for the Dallas Cowboys in 2008, and also played for the Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans, who selected him sixth overall in the 2005 NFL draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl once, in 2015, and was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2014.

Originally from Atlanta, Jones played three seasons of college football at West Virginia University.

Jones was arrested several times during and after his NFL career. He was also suspended several times during his NFL career due to off-field issues and missed the entire 2007 season due to suspension.
