Brazil (+190) vs. Japan (+145), DRAW (+240) | 2.5 (-105/-120)

Matchday two begins with a heavyweight Group C clash between Brazil and Japan. The South American nation took care of business in their opening match, beating Nigeria 1-0. Japan lost 2-1 to Spain on Thursday. Kick-off is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET from the Parc des Princes in Paris, France.

This is the second time this year that these countries have faced each other in a competitive capacity. The two teams drew in the third place match of the SheBelieves Cup in April, with Brazil eventually winning 3-0 on penalties. These teams usually settle things when they are lower down the table, but that will not be the case here. They are very evenly matched and I think it is worth playing the draw at +240.

Speaking of parity, the FIFA rankings put Japan in seventh place and Brazil in ninth. Japan are desperate for a result after a thrilling match against Spain in the opener, which makes me think they can at least come away with a point. I can see this match ending in a 1-1 range, so I’m going to put a few bucks on the draw.

Bet: Draw (+240)

USA (+115) vs. Germany (+240), DRAW (+240) | 2.5 (-110/-115)

The day’s biggest match comes in the late window as Team USA takes on Germany. Both countries won 3-0 in their opening matches, beating Zambia and Australia respectively. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET from the Orange Velodrome in Marseille, France.

Maybe there’s a little bias with my patriotism for the United States, but at the same time I think the stats and recent form point to the Stars and Stripes coming home with a win on Sunday. For starters, the United States of America has beaten Germany head-to-head, going 23-7-5 against them in the overall series. They’re 4-0-1 at the Olympics and the World Cup.

Germany haven’t been a huge force on the world stage lately, having been knocked out of the group stage of last year’s World Cup. They also finished third in the UEFA Nations League, losing 2-1 to France in the semi-finals of the tournament. Meanwhile, the US is undefeated, going 7-3-0 in its last 10 games in all competitions, including winning the SheBelieves Cup 2-2 (5-4 P) against Canada. They haven’t conceded a goal in five consecutive games, and if their defense plays anywhere near that level, they should be able to beat the Germans.

Bet: USA Moneyline (+115)

France (-180) vs. Canada (+500), DRAW (+330) | 2.5 (-130/+100)

The other match in the late window pits the hosts, France, against Canada in a Group A match. Both teams emerged victorious in their opening matches, meaning this high-leverage match will likely determine the group winner. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET from Stade Geoffroy-Guichard in Saint-Etienne, France.

I’m going to take a chance and give France a run for their money in this match. For starters, they have the entire nation behind them, as they’re playing a home match that’s technically a neutral venue. I paid close attention to the men’s rugby 7s tournament earlier in the week, and it was clear that the French team had a home advantage en route to their gold medal-winning efforts. At first I wasn’t sure how much of an impact it would have, but it’s clear to me now. This is an angle to watch.

The most recent action we’ve seen from Canada on the world stage was when they were eliminated from the group stage of last year’s World Cup. They had a 1-1-1 record and a -3 goal difference. In the same tournament, France reached the quarter-finals but lost to the hosts, Australia, in a 0-0 game that ended in a penalty shootout (7-6). Oh, we’re back to the home advantage argument! In the end, France is the second-best FIFA women’s team, while Canada is in eighth place. This should be a close battle, but I think the hosts will walk away with the three points.

Bet: France Moneyline (-180)
