After the death of his only son, a grieving father is haunted by a demon known in Irish folklore as the Fetch. “In Irish folklore and literature dating back to the 16th century, writers from the island have written of mythical creatures known as ‘Picks up‘ who haunt people whose days are numbered. Legend has it that Fetches take on the physical form of the people they visit – and if your own creepy doppelgänger visits you at night, it means your death is imminent. But if they visit you in the morning, you can prepare for a long life ahead.” De Haal is directed by the American genre filmmaker JC Dolerwith which he made his feature film debut after many short films previously. The screenplay was written by JC Doler and Paul Petersen; from a story by Taylor Bracewell, Chris Alan Evans, JC Doler, Paul Petersen. Produced by Logan Donovan, Alexander Jeffery, Paul Petersen, Brittany Fallow, Chris Alan Evans and Doler. It will premiere this month at the 2024 Austin Film Festival in Texas.
