Fans surprised by ‘weird’ poster for UFC Abu Dhabi – ‘It looks like the intro of a sitcom’

UFC Abu Dhabi now has an official poster.

Fan reactions were mixed, with some Twitter commenters calling it a “weird” attempt to “look like the intro to a sitcom,” while others thought it reflected the “handsome portrayals” of the fight night participants .

Haters want the UFC to fire the poster department.

UFC Abu Dhabi takes place on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, where top 10 bantamweight contenders Cory Sandhagen and Umar Nurmagomedov will battle for a spot in the 135-pound title hunt.

The winner could face Sean O’Malley (or Merab Dvalishvili) sometime in 2025.

“The fans really want to see me and O’Malley fight,” Sandhagen told MMAmania.com. “That’s something they’ve been asking for for a long time. I’m going to do my part and win this fight. I want O’Malley to go out and do his part and win his fight. That way, the championship fight could be one of the most highly anticipated MMA fights that so many fans are already very intrigued about. Just the fact that we can do it at a championship level and at scale, I think would be like a huge fight.”
