Fallout: Nuevo México seems to do for New Vegas what Fallout London did for Fallout 4

The debut trailer for Fallout: New Vegas mod Fallout: Nuevo México shows off the completely revamped game in a similar way to how Fallout: London completely changed Fallout 4.

The lengthy trailer was shared on YouTube and gives players a look at Mexico City, the mod’s main location, and how the wasteland conquered it.

“Once the bustling heart of a vast metropolis, Mexico City now lies in ruins, a battleground for factions vying for dominance and survival,” the synopsis reads. “From the decaying colony of Chapultepec to the sunken canals of Xochimilco, the city is a terrifying mix of beauty and brutality.”

Fallout: Nuevo México will be free when it eventually releases, but no date has been set yet. It is described as “a fan-made creation, driven purely by passion and creative work, without any funding” and “a dedicated effort to share a unique vision of a post-apocalyptic world in Mexico.”

With Fallout 5 potentially still a decade away, given that developer Bethesda is the first to release The Elder Scrolls 6 and still years away, fan projects like this may be the best chance that players can enjoy single-player Fallout for years to come.

The reveal trailer comes not long after Fallout: London arrived as an expansion mod for Fallout 4. This mod unsurprisingly took players to the English capital and even featured a full-fledged voice cast, including Baldur’s Gate 3 star Neil Newbon (and, bizarrely, former British Speaker of the House of Representatives, John Bercow).
