Faker has played nearly half of LoL’s stackable champion roster in pro play with the latest LCK pick

Faker is about to take almost half of League of Legends players official selection in the professional league after securing his seventh pick in the LCK play-offs this weekend.

During T1’s series with KT Rolster in the 2024 Summer LCK playoffs, Faker locked down Smolder, a typically dominant ADC champion, for the first time. It served the legendary midlaner well, helping T1 win the match and ultimately take the series 3-1 to advance to the next round.

There are more than 160 champions in League of Legendsso Faker is still a few unique picks away from playing more than half of the total champion pool. He doesn’t even have to win the match, just play the champion to add another notch to the legendary milestone.

It’s another milestone in Faker’s career that has spanned more than a decade. Although Smolder is Faker’s 78th professional league champion, it’s a small blot on Faker’s impressive championship resume.

Of the 78 champions Faker has played, Azir is his most played pro champion with 180-plus total games. He has an impressive 68 percent win rate on the champion. Orianna comes in second with 90-plus games and a 70 percent win rate, while Ryze takes the bronze medal with 70-plus games and a 63 percent win rate.

Even with Azir as Faker’s most played champion, Faker does not have a Worlds winning skin featuring Azir. While SKT Azir does exist as a skin, the skin was awarded to SKT sub-Easyhoon for SKT’s 2016 World Championship victory.

Back to Faker: it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he gets his 79th pick, especially with the new champions on the horizon and the World Championship coming up at the end of September.
