A user of Platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has reported that a source close to Harris and Emhoff has announced their separation.

The message read: “Inside sources say Doug and Kamala are not getting along as they ride the wave of critical losses. Doug has reportedly left Kamala and plans to file for divorce.”

Although rumors have been circulating online, no public confirmation or credible sources have linked Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff to any separation or divorce proceedings. Harris and Emhoff have not commented on the matter, while Harris focuses on her vice presidential duties, as evidenced by her social media posts.

Throughout Harris’ campaign and her term as vice president, Emhoff has consistently been a visible supporter. He often attended campaign events and was present alongside Harris during her post-election concession speech, demonstrating a powerful show of unity.

Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff share a decade of partnership and support

The relationship between Emhoff and Harris spans more than a decade. They started dating in 2013 when Harris was California’s attorney general.

After their wedding a year later, Emhoff assumed the historic role of the United States’ first Second Gentleman. Harris regularly expresses her appreciation for her husband’s patience and humor.

In interviews with People magazine, she called him her best friend and a source of constant support. In a 2021 interview with People, Harris emphasized the role of humor and perspective in maintaining a grounded relationship despite political pressure.

“You just have to flow and know what’s really important,” Harris had said.
