Exclusive: Chelsea and Napoli have met again to discuss Osimhen’s terms

In the past 48 hours, new contacts have taken place between Chelsea and Napoli to discuss the formula and payment structure of a potential deal for Victor Osimhen.

Both clubs know that the talks will take even more time due to the technical aspects of the operation and that there will certainly be no solution before mid-August.

The success of the operation will largely depend on the fixed fee Chelsea has to pay for the Nigerian striker.

Important days for Victor Osimhen and Chelsea

According to sources with knowledge of the negotiations at CaughtOffside, the Blues do not want to go further than €60 million, while Napoli have asked for at least two players – Romelu Lukaku and Trevoh Chalobah or Cesare Casadei – and around €80/90 million in cash.

A new meeting is scheduled for the coming days, where discussions will continue and key details are expected to be finalised.

Victor Osimhen
It is important to reiterate that PSG is not currently a concrete option for Osimhen, despite several reports to the contrary.

Although his entourage introduced the striker to the French club, PSG have said they are looking for players for other positions.

Sources at CaughtOffside understand that a winger is a priority for the Ligue 1 giants, with Luis Enrique happy to already be able to count on the likes of Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos as central strikers.

With the Nigerian known to be determined to leave Napoli in the current transfer window, both Chelsea and the Partnopei, and even Osimhen himself, are likely to have to give ground in negotiations to get a deal done.
