Ex-NFL star says he will leave US if Kamala Harris wins. Patriots champion says ‘leave now.’

Asante Samuel says he would be more than happy to see a former NFL All-Pro leave the country if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election.

Samuel, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots, took to social media this weekend to take some shots at former Pittsburgh Steelers star LeVeon Bell for his strong stance on the election.

Bell, who has come out as a strong supporter of Donald Trump, wrote in a post on Saturday: “I will leave the country if Kamala Harris wins.”

“Hey, I’m telling you all right now: If Trump doesn’t win, he’s cheated. If Kamala Harris wins, I’m out. Because you’re really not trying to make America great again,” Bell said in a follow-up video while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Samuel tried to call Bell’s bluff, suggesting the former running back should do so

“Do us all a favor and please leave now,” Samuel wrote. “And I’ll ask you every day if you’re gone yet.”

Samuel responded to a user who wanted to help pay for Bell’s ticket and suggested starting a GoFundMe.

Despite their social media feud, Samuel and Bell never quite crossed paths in the NFL.

Samuel played from 2003 to 2013 and won a pair of Super Bowls with the Patriots. The cornerback was named a first-team All-Pro selection in his final year in New England. He also appeared in three consecutive Pro Bowls while with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bell arrived in the NFL in 2013 and never faced Samuel. Bell started his career with a stellar five-year run in Pittsburgh, making three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams.

Bell subsequently sat out the 2018 season due to a contract dispute with the Steelers. The following year he signed with the New York Jets, but fell short of expectations. The following year he was cut off.

Bell last played in the NFL in 2021, spending time with the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2022, Bell tried to make it as a professional boxer. The 32-year-old reportedly targeted an NFL comeback earlier this year but failed to generate any traction.
