Evacuations for Boone Fire Near Coalinga, More Than 12,200 Acres Burned, 5% Contained

A wildfire that started west of Coalinga on Tuesday had spread across 30,000 acres (12,252 hectares) by Thursday.

The Boone Fire burned in the Los Gatos Creek area, an area with much open land and scattered homes.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has identified approximately 75 buildings in the fire path.

Evacuation orders are in effect for those living in Zones P11A, P12, P13A, P21 & 22A of the Fresno County mapping system. These are the areas in red.

An evacuation order means that there is an immediate danger to life.

This is a lawful order to leave now. The area is lawfully closed to the public.

Zones P11B, P13B, P17, P20, P22, P22B & P23 are under evacuation warnings. These areas are in yellow.

An evacuation warning means there is a potential threat to life and/or property. Those who need extra time to evacuate and those with pets/livestock should leave now.

Cal Fire is actively battling the fire and a command post has been set up along Highway 198 between Lucille and Firestone Avenues in Coalinga.
