ESPN’s Louis Riddick is fed up with the Jets over Davante Adams rumors

NFL training camps haven’t even started yet, but one well-known football personality has already heard enough about one team.

As rumors have mounted over the past week about a potential trade for Raiders star receiver Davante Adams to the Jets, ESPN’s Louis Riddick appeared on “Get Up” on Wednesday and gave his candid opinion on the buzz, which he believes is overblown.

Louis Riddick is growing increasingly tired of exploring the Jets’ offseason fantasies. @AwfulAnnouncing/X.

“Why don’t they go out there and try to get Trent Williams too?” Riddick commented sarcastically. “Maybe they should go out there and try to get Lane Johnson too. Why don’t they just try to get everybody?

“You know what, we spend so much time talking about (the Jets). How about the quarterback just stays healthy? How about they just protect him? … Greeny (host Mike Greenberg), I’m tired of your team, to be honest with you. They’re fine right now. Just let them play.”

“I understand that,” Greenberg replied.

On Tuesday, fellow analyst Dan Orlovsky made his own headlines on “Get Up” when he suggested it was a “done deal” that Adams would be traded from the Raiders to reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the Jets.

In response, Adams’ agents called the comments from Orlovsky, WFAN host Boomer Esiason and even Rodgers himself “unfounded, unsubstantiated speculation,” implying that Adams won’t be leaving Las Vegas anytime soon.

Adams eventually intervened in the situation and suppressed any idea of leaving.

“I’m stuck with the Raiders and I feel really good about this team, and as far as I know they feel good about me,” the 31-year-old told Shannon Sharpe on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast that aired Wednesday.

To make Riddick’s point, the Jets are one of the most talked about teams in the NFL offseason, especially during the hottest days between minicamp and training camp.

With Rodgers likely returning from a torn Achilles tendon, BetMGM projects an over/under of 9.5 wins, putting the team in 11th place for the Super Bowl.

The Jets’ stellar roster, featuring corner Sauce Gardner, receiver Garrett Wilson, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and running back Breece Hall, also continues to draw praise from media and scout rankings.

Adams remains with the Raiders, who are hoping to return to the playoffs under head coach Antonio Pierce for his first full season.
