Escape Halloween is fast approaching and will mean another spooktacular weekend for dance music lovers. The festival returns to the NOS events Center on October 25-26. It features a stacked lineup including Martin Garrix, Fatboy Thin, deathmau5, James Hype, Maddix, AFROKI (AFROJACK + Steve Aoki), Don Diablo, Da Tweekaz, Angerfist, Adventure Club, Alison Wonderland, Cloonee, Meduzaand more.

In addition to the music, this year’s Escape Halloween will be another epic experience. Insomniac revealed that they have expanded the site and changed the layout, creating more space for dancing and many exciting new additions. This includes the debut of Boiler room at the festival, a more centralized placement for Crazy Town and the beloved Sewer District stage shifting to the other side of the venue.

Unfortunately, during this festival season, many have reported pickpockets, bag cutting and theft of wallets, smartphones, wallets and other valuables. While this small number of bad apples in the bunch doesn’t define an entire crowd, some opportunistic people come to these events to take advantage of unsuspecting partygoers, and it’s essential to keep an eye on your valuables while on vacation. Escape Halloween 2024 – Do’s & Don’ts:

Allowed items

• YES Deodorant
• YES E-cigarettes/vaping
• YES Festival totems or decorated pool noodles (see Totem Guidelines)
• YES Flags/banners or handmade signs (no company logo and no hard flagpoles)
• YES Glowsticks and glowing/illuminated costumes or jewelry, LED poi and orbitals, hula hoops – including LED hoops
• YES NON-CLEAR (and transparent) hydration packs with no more than two main compartments and one smaller compartment (must be empty upon entry)
• YES Non-professional flash/photo cameras, portable video devices smaller than 15 cm (Sony Action Cam, GoPro, etc.) and extendable GoPro poles
• YES Personal misting fan with a bottle of up to 1.5 liters (must be empty upon entry)
• YES Medicine prescribed by a doctor that has not expired (a doctor’s prescription must be presented upon entry and a safety officer must be consulted)
• YES Reusable water bottles (must be empty upon entry)
• YES Sealed intranasal naloxone
• YES CLEAR bags and no larger than 12″x6″x12″
• YES NON-CLEAR (and transparent) small clutches up to 15cm x 23cm (6″ x 9″) with or without handles or straps are allowed

Prohibited items

• NO Aerosol products/cans
• NO balls or frisbees
• NO costumes that resemble public safety uniforms (police, SWAT, fire, security or medical)
• NO Drones, Remote Controlled Airplanes, Toys
• NO drugs or drug paraphernalia
• NO gas masks
• NO glass, cans, cups or coolers
• NO illegal substances
• NO laser pointers and air horns
• NO markers, pens or spray paint
• NO massagers
• NO outside food or drinks (including alcohol and sweets)
• NO over-the-counter medications
• NO pets
• NO professional photo, video or audio recording equipment (no detachable lenses, tripods, large zoom lenses or commercial use equipment)
• NO red colored glowing wands, clubs or lightsabers
• NO stickers, flyers
• NO tents, large umbrellas, chairs or blankets
• NO toy guns, water pistols, slingshots
• NO weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, pepper spray, fireworks, etc.)
• NO wind chairs/benches

Costume Guidelines

• NO drugs or drug paraphernalia
• NO costumes that resemble police, fire, security or medical in any way
• NO handcuffs
• NO glass or ceramic masks
• NO full face makeup that makes you unrecognizable from your government issued photo ID
• NO items resembling weapons or weapon accessories, real or fictional (including whips, lightsabers, axes, pocket knives, swords, guns, fake weapons/props, etc.)
• NO violent props, including crops, whips, ropes, chains or chains
• NO sharp metal spikes
• Please note that we are an inclusive community and costumes/decorations should not misrepresent race, religion or cultural heritage.

Totem Guidelines

• Maximum height is 10 feet.
• Totems must be made of lightweight material (e.g. foam, PVC / not solid metal).
• Foldable/telescopic camera extenders that follow the above guidelines are fine (lightweight/hollow aluminum/polycarbonate).
• Poles made of PVC, light wood or aluminum should have a diameter of no more than 2.5 cm.
• Decorated pool noodles work great for easy security access.
• Inflatables attached to totems must deflate upon entry.
• Any item considered dangerous is not allowed.
• Totems that promote illegal activities or hate speech are not allowed. Save this PLUR.
