Eritrean cyclist Bini Girmay becomes the first black African to win a stage in the Tour de France

Eritrea’s Biniam Girmay became the first black African to win a stage of the Tour de France after emerging from a frantic stage 3 bunch sprint in Turin. Girmay was already the first black African to win a stage in a grand tour in the 2022 Giro d’Italia. He defeated Colombian Fernando Gaviria and Belgian Arnaud de Lie, who finished second and third respectively. Watch the last few minutes of this historic stage!
