Epic Announces New Fortnite Map, Featuring Several Marvel-Themed POIs

The new Fortnite Marvel season is in full swing, kicking off this weekend with a Marvel-themed release, and Epic Games is sharing a sneak peek at what’s to come.

In a new post on Twitter/X today, Epic posted an overhead view of Fortnite Chapter Five, the Season Four map, is covered in a green-like mist that covers the northernmost and southwesternmost areas of the island, where players have been fighting since December of last year.

According to leakers, the mystery behind the green mist has already been solved. The two northern POIs, Lavish Lair and Classy Courts, will reportedly be replaced by a Dr. Doom-themed area, such as Doom’s castle or his homeland of Latveria.

The southwestern POI Pleasant Piazza, meanwhile, will be replaced by the Raft, which could hold a big hint at some fun events this season. The Raft is a massive floating prison in the Marvel Universe, and it’s consistently filled with the biggest, baddest villains.

The new season was finally revealed this past weekend during Disney’s D23 showcase. It’s called Absolute Doom and it features Dr. Doom as well as several Marvel heroes and villains, including Gwenpool, War Machine, Mysterio and more. There are also a ton of Marvel-themed Mythic items, such as Iron Man’s gauntlets, Dr. Doom’s powers and more, so the entire season is sure to be filled with a ton of Marvel goodness.

Could it be Dr. Doom’s plan to cause an outbreak at the Raft, causing the island to become filled with all sorts of Marvel villains, Fortniteand other collabs? And will this trigger the arrival of the previously data-mined Fantastic Four, who have not yet been seen in promotional material for the new season?

The Fortnite The gamer in me is almost as excited as the Marvel fan. I can’t wait to see these two worlds collide once again when the new season kicks off this Friday, August 16th.
