Thursday, July 4, Independence Day

Sutherland — All day festivities. Lunch at Railroad Park 11-12:30. Parade at 2:00 p.m. Streetdance 9:00 p.m. 4th of July Rodeo final night, 7:00-10:00 p.m.

Cody Park Picnic Area — Municipal Band. Free Concert. 7:30 p.m.

Lincoln County Fairgrounds (5015 Rodeo Road) — The North Platte Optimists’ annual fireworks extravaganza returns. 9:30 p.m.-midnight.

Friday July 5th

Cornerstone Church (1620 W. 4th) — The Gospel Corner. An afternoon of Southern gospel music. Call (308) 660-7153 to reserve a seat. 2-4 p.m.

Saturday July 6th

Second & Bailey St Parking Lot — Platte River Cruise continues with all day festivities. Opens at 9am Entertainment by Groovy’s Garage, Ratrod magazine & Pin-striper Sara Kirby. Featuring Ryan Evans of Counting Cars signing autographs at 10am Rockabilly Pin-Up Girl Contest at 11:30am Autolimbo at 1pm Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest at 2pm Trophy Presentation at 3pm Burnout Contest at 4pm Beer Garden Opens at 6pm-11pm Singer-songwriter Ingrid Griffin performs from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Music by Groovy’s Garage DJ from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
