English Open snooker: England’s Reanne Evans loses historic match to Thailand’s Mink Nutcharut

Thailand’s Mink Nutcharut defeated England’s Reanne Evans at the English Open in the first match between two female players on the professional World Snooker Tour.

Nutcharut won three successive frames to secure a 4-2 victory in the ranking tournament in Brentwood, Essex.

The 24-year-old’s reward for her victory over former women’s world champion Evans (38) is a second-round match against Ricky Walden.

Ronnie O’Sullivan, Judd Trump and world champion Kyren Wilson will enter the tournament from the third round, chasing the top prize of £100,000.
