Harry Brook’s unbeaten 71 put England in the driving seat and built a commanding second innings lead on a third day of the second Test match at Trent Bridge.

Chris Woakes made progress with the new ball early in the morning session and finished with figures of 4-84, but Joshua Da Silva’s unbeaten 82 and a last-wicket stand of 71 between him and Shamar Joseph helped West Indies take a 41-run first innings lead.

England lost Zak Crawley shortly after lunch as they began their second innings, but Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope hit another century to put England on 116-1 at tea.

West Indian Joshua Da Silva reached half century in style

The duo were bowled out in quick succession by Alzarri Joseph after tea, but Brook and Joe Root came together to remain unbeaten in the fourth wicket, leaving the hosts at 248-3 at the close of play, giving them a 207-run lead.
