#EDODECIDES! ‘I Will Never Accept A Bribe, It Doesn’t Matter How Much’ – INEC Commissioner, Rhoda Gumus

Professor Rhoda Gumus, the National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) overseeing Edo State, has asserted that her established reputation makes her impervious to bribery attempts. In a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Gumus emphasized his commitment to upholding integrity during the ongoing governorship election.

Gumus announced that voter accreditation would begin at 8 am and that voting would close at 2 pm However, she assured that all accredited voters would still be allowed to cast their ballots, regardless of the time.

“I am in charge of Edo, and I am determined to do the right thing,” Gumus stated, adding that she envisions this election as INEC’s best-managed to date. “I will conduct this election in a free, fair, and credible manner. I cannot take bribes, no matter the amount. “My integrity is paramount.”

She further explained that her position carries a certain level of scrutiny, deterring potential bribery attempts. “In any office, people know everything about you. If they are aware of your reputation, they won’t approach you,” she said.

Gumus also highlighted her proactive approach, noting that she frequently engages with the Election Operations Centers (EOCs) to monitor the election process closely and make necessary corrections in real-time.
