Police reminded that publishing false information is against the law of section 208 of the Criminal Offenses Act, 1960 (Act 29).

Police reiterated that Amoako’s son remains in detention at the Osu facility.

“We find it very unfortunate that a tragic incident resulting in the loss of two beautiful souls is being exploited in a non-Ghanaian manner to draw attention to ourselves,” the police said.

The October 12 road accident involved Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako’s son and has led to charges against the pastor and his wife for allowing a person without a driver’s license to drive.

Footage of the crash showed Amoako’s 16-year-old son, who was driving the car, speeding excessively in the back of the other vehicle involved in the crash in the lead-up to the crash.
