The Ghana Police Service has debunked rumors that Prophet Salifu Amoako’s son, Elrad, was not on remand at the Osu Correctional Centre.

Police statement about Elrad Salifu Amoako

The police statement comes after Empress Papa A-Amigos took to their Facebook account to complain that Elrad Salifu Amoako had failed to report to the Osu Correctional Center and wondered where he was being held.

In the statement dated November 5, 2024, the police noted that, following the court order dated November 1, 2024, suspect Elrad Salifu Amoako was taken to the Osu Correctional Center where he has been staying since the morning of November 5, 2024.

“We would therefore submit that this statement is false and constitutes the offense of publishing false news, contrary to section 208 of the Criminal Offenses Act, 1960 (Act 29).”

The statement further noted that police identified two social media accounts, a TikTok user with the handle “prisywanlov1” and a Facebook user with the handle “Empress Papa A-Amigos,” in connection with the false publication .

The agency also noted that investigations are underway to identify the individuals behind the accounts so that they can be brought to justice.

“We find it very unfortunate that a tragic incident resulting in the loss of two beautiful souls is being exploited in a non-Ghanaian manner by some individuals to draw attention to themselves. We urge the public to refrain from such actions and allow the families to grieve.” peace.”
