Kevin Durant left Paris with more than just gold.

While in Paris, Durant completed the purchase of a minority stake in the legendary football club Paris Saint-Germain through his business arm Boardroom Sports.

During his stay in Paris, Durant took time to tour the PSG grounds and spoke with team president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

PSG play in Ligue 1, the top French league, where they are the reigning champions and have been the dominant force for more than a decade. This summer, however, they lost French star Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid. Still, PSG are a deep team and the heavy favorites to repeat as Ligue 1 champions.

This is a “multi-million dollar” investment, with Durant and Boardroom Sports investing through a special arm of Arctos, a private investment company that owns 12.5% of PSG. Durant also owns a stake in MLS’s Philadelphia Union.

Durant isn’t the only NBA player to own a piece of a European soccer club. LeBron James owns a piece of Liverpool FC of the Premier League through the Fenway Sports Group. Steve Nash, a huge soccer fan and player, is a part-owner of Vancouver Whitecaps FC of the MLS and RCD Mallorca, James Harden owns a piece of Houston Dynamo of the MLS, and Dwayne Wade owns a piece of Real Salt Lake of the MLS.
