Drug paraphernalia seen in Liam Payne’s destroyed hotel room after his fatal fall

Liam Payne’s destroyed hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was full of drug paraphernalia when he fell on Wednesday.

According to photos verified by the South American country’s largest newspaper, La Nacion, the former One Direction singer’s room on the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel contained a broken television, a half-filled champagne glass and scattered foil and powder .

On a desk, Payne found an empty package of Dove soap, a lit candle, a burnt soda can and a piece of aluminum foil.

There were also traces of a white powder that authorities will test to confirm suspicions that it could be cocaine, La Nacion reported.

According to the outlet, there was wax and burnt foil in the bathtub.

Payne died Wednesday after falling from his third-floor hotel room. He was 31.

Buenos Aires police said in a statement that the “Night Changes” singer’s fall resulted in “extremely serious injuries,” including fracturing his skull.

Medical staff members pronounced Payne dead at the scene.

Pablo Policicchio, a spokesman for the Buenos Aires Municipality’s Ministry of Security, told the Associated Press that the singer-songwriter had “thrown himself off the balcony of his room.”

Before Payne’s death, officers had been dispatched to the hotel for a 911 call reporting an “aggressive male who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” Policicchio said.

Payne reportedly broke his laptop and had to be carried back to his room in the lead-up to his death.

Officers on the scene reportedly later heard a thud and discovered the “X Factor” alum’s body in the hotel courtyard.
