Drew Dober vs. Jean Silva Announced for UFC Denver

It’s been less than two weeks, but Drew Dober has finally found a dance partner for UFC Denver.

At UFC Denver, taking place on July 13, 2024 at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, Dober (27-13, 1NC) will face Jean Silva (13-2) in a lightweight bout.

Promotional Officers recently announced the bookingSilva was already spotted at UFC 303 last weekend, making this a very short-notice fight for the Brazilian, who will move up in weight.

Dober was originally scheduled to face Mike Davis, but “Beast Boy” was forced to pull out of the fight. Dober is a member of the Elevation Fight Team in Denver, along with the likes of Rose Namajunas and Justin Gaethje, and has been waiting for a new opponent since then.

At 2-2 in his last four fights, Dober will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Renato Moicano in February. The popular lightweight has faced some of the best fighters the UFC has to offer, including Islam Makhachev, Beneil Dariush, Bobby Green, Matt Frevola and more.

Silva picked up a KO victory at UFC 303 in Las Vegas this past weekend in a featherweight bout. He is 3-0 since winning his way into the promotion at Dana White’s Contender Series last year.

UFC Denver, also known as UFC on ESPN 59, will be headlined by “Thug” Rose Namajunas vs. Tracy Cortez (replacing Maycee Barber) in a women’s flyweight bout. The following matchups have been reported for the card so far:
