Dragon’s Dogma 2 Director Hideaki Itsuno Announces Unexpected Departure From Capcom After 30 Years

Capcom has had many staff members who have helped the company create great titles over the years. One of them is the famous director Hideaki Itsuno, who has suddenly announced his imminent departure from the company.

In a message on his X accountOn Saturday, October 31, Hideaki Itsuno, who prominently directed Dragon Dogma 2 and a lot Devil May Cry games, announced that he would be leaving Capcom after 30 years. While Itsuno did not give a reason for his departure, he thanked fans for their long-standing support of the games and characters he was responsible for. He also stated that he will be “developing a new game in a new environment” and that he hopes to create “fun, beautiful games that are just as memorable as, or even more memorable” than the games he has overseen thus far.

Hideaki Itsuno was first hired at Capcom’s arcade division, where he became co-director of games such as Star Gladiator And Rival schools: united by fateHe is also known for his work as a director of many games, including Power stone, Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry 4, Devil May Cry 5, Dragon’s Dogma and Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Several games he directed are considered fan favorite titles in their respective franchises, and both The Dogma of the Dragon games have enjoyed great success. The original, which launched in 2013, is considered a cult classic, and the recent sequel has been a critical and commercial success, selling over two million copies within 11 days of its release.
