Dr. Dre has received an offer from a former Olympic gold medalist to help him train for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles if he seriously considers taking up archery.

Justin Huish told TMZ Sports that he would like to train Dr. Dre for the Olympics: “I’ll come to your house. I’ll train you. I’ll spend my time training with you.”

Huish’s comments come after Dr. Dre told Nischelle Turner Entertainment tonight On Tuesday he is “dead serious” about competing in the 2028 Olympics (starts at 2:20).

The hip-hop icon explained that he “started archery in high school” and recently got back into it after receiving an archery set as a gift from his son.

Dre would be hard-pressed to find a better teacher than Huish. The 49-year-old won two gold medals at the 1996 Olympics in the team and individual archery competitions.

While most Olympic events tend to favor younger athletes, there are some events where older stars are allowed to compete. Juan Antonio Jimenez Cobo competed in the equestrian event at the Paris Games at the age of 65.

Dr. Dre wouldn’t be the first celebrity to attempt to qualify for the U.S. Olympic archery team, if he actually does.

Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis took up the sport after the 1996 Games and competed in an Olympic qualifying event in July 1999, but she finished 24th in a field of 300 athletes and missed out on the field.
