Donovon Delmore was born on May 17, 1935, to Richard and Mabel (Rosell) Oberg on the family farm in Spruce Hill Township. He graduated from Central High School in Alexandria in 1953 and immediately joined the U.S. National Guard. Donovon married Ann Peterson on January 3, 1954, in the parsonage of the First Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. After their marriage, they lived and farmed in various areas of Spruce Hill Township until 1968, when they moved to the Peterson family farm (a third generation farm), where he farmed his entire life. Donovon also hauled milk for Rose City Creamery until it burned down and was then trucked to Eagle Bend. He served in the National Guard for nine years, until his honorable discharge in 1961. He was a lifelong parishioner of Rose City Evangelical Free Church. In his younger years, Donovon enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiling. He took pride in his agricultural accomplishments, restoring vintage John Deere tractors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, tractor pulls and team bowling. He was a member of the Rose City Creamery Board and the AMPI Board. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered as a good provider and a passionate farmer.

His parents and in-laws, Thorsten and Ruth Peterson, died earlier.

Donovon is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ann; four children, Tim (Jo) Oberg of Eagle Bend, Holly (Kevin) Froemming of Fergus Falls, Harlan (Vicki) Oberg and Jeff (Dawn) Oberg, both of Alexandria; sister Marlys Fredman of Alexandria; brother Gary (Virginia) Oberg of Litchfield; 10 grandchildren, Jodi, Marie, Jarrod, Christel, Dana, Cory, Kelly, Kayla, Ashten and Marki; three step-grandchildren, Corrine, Kate and Courtney; 17 great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
