Dominic Solanke ready for debut

Leicester City kick off their return to the Premier League with a clash with Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power Stadium on Monday night, as Tottenham Hotspur look to embark on a special season under Ange Postecoglou.

The North London side made great strides under the Australian coach last season, making a flying start to their Premier League campaign which they will hope to emulate in the coming weeks. However, Spurs slumped towards the end of the term, eventually finishing the season in fifth place.

Despite this, Tottenham have played some of the most exciting games in the English top flight and a number of key summer signings could see the London outfit take a major step forward.

Spurs fans will be hoping this is the season that ends their trophy drought and it starts on Monday night against Leicester.

Postecoglou has assembled a squad of Vicario, Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison, Johnson, Solanke and Son to take on the Foxes, who will be a tough opponent if they return to the Premier League.

New signing Dominic Solanke will start at Tottenham after joining from Bournemouth this month, giving us the first look at how the England striker will fit in at his new club following an impressive 2023/24 campaign.

Confirmed Tottenham XI

As for Leicester, it has been a difficult summer for the Foxes after their success in the Championship last season, losing their manager Enzo Maresca and their best player Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea.

Steve Cooper was in charge of the club’s return to the Premier League and it was seen as a good appointment for the 2016 champions given the Welsh manager’s experience in the division with Nottingham Forest.

The 2024/25 season is expected to be tough for Leicester and they will start the season with a strong opponent in Tottenham.

Copper have named a squad of Hermansen, Justin, Vestergaard, Faes, Kristiansen, Winks, Buonanotte, Ndidi, De Cordova-Reid, Fatawu and Vardy for the match against Spurs. A win over the North London club could be the key to a positive season for everyone at the King Power Stadium.
