The Miami Dolphins struggled offensively, but an injury to Tua Tagovailoa forced him to leave the game, which lost 31-10 to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.

Tagovailoa finished 17 of 25 for 145 yards and a touchdown, though he was intercepted three times. The 26-year-old’s third interception was particularly costly, as Bills cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram returned the ball for a touchdown.

Tagovailoa’s night came to an end shortly afterward when he was tackled during a scramble late in the third quarter and left lying on the field. The Pro Bowl passer was eventually able to walk away under his own power and enter the locker room, but he was later ruled out with a concussion.

I’m praying for Tua. 🙏🏼 It’s hard to see such a hardworking and inspiring athlete face yet another setback.

Skylar Thompson replaced Tagovailoa and completed eight of his 14 pass attempts for 80 yards. He was also sacked once.

The Dolphins generated 351 yards of offense, but were repeatedly held off the board because they couldn’t move the sticks when they needed to. Miami converted just one of five fourth-down opportunities.

Defense was also an issue for the Dolphins, as the team was unable to stop Bills running back James Cook. Cook amassed 95 yards from scrimmage on just 12 touches, and scored all three of his touchdowns in the first half.

Fans were disappointed with the team’s overall performance and criticized Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel.

Injuries aside, this was always the nightmare scenario for the #Dolphins.
The effect on your mental state when you are blown away by a battered player at home #Invoices team is not something you can just get out of.
This was always Buffalo’s division, Miami is playing for second place at most.

#Dolphins Mike McDaniel will probably step up to the plate after the game and take full blame for tonight’s loss because that’s the kind of guy he is and while Tua had a bad night, this loss is more about McDaniel IMO so he’s right. Bad game plan and this team is going to fold fast

The Dolphins moved to 1-1 after the loss, while the Bills moved to 2-0.
