Dolans’ Angry Letter, NBA Expansion, Team USA Remains Undefeated, and Thoughts on Vegas Summer League | No Cap Room

In this episode of No Cap SpaceYahoo Sports Senior NBA Reporter Jake Fischer and Yahoo Sports Senior NBA Writer Dan Devine tell you everything you need to know about the world of basketball.

They start with Team USA, who are now 3-0 in tune up games leading up to the Paris Olympics. Dan explains why the bench is USA’s greatest strength, while Jake wonders if anyone can stop the duo of LeBron James and Steph Curry.

The guys also discuss Kyrie Irvin’s surgery on his broken hand, Gary Trent Jr. joining the Milwaukee Bucks (thanks to Damian Lillard’s stellar recruiting), and the Nuggets’ search for a backup point guard.

Jake and Dan also discuss Knicks owner James Dolan sending a letter to the NBA Board of Governors complaining about revenue sharing and the new TV deal that will see more of the NBA’s most popular games of the season aired on national television.

Noting that Adam Silver seemed less than optimistic about NBA expansion during his recent press conference, Jake and the guys decide to play a game where they each pick a city to get an expansion team from and give it a name, plus a minority shareholder who would help attract local fans.

After the break, Jake fills us in on everything he heard and saw while in Las Vegas for Summer League, including the frustration surrounding the new CBA, which has people wondering if the players and owners will try to renegotiate that part of the deal.

We end the podcast with a look back at the four guys in the Summer League that Jake and Dan were supposed to be keeping an eye on. Two of them haven’t really played yet and the other two have been somewhat disappointing so far.
