Decoy also made a special appearance for the game, throwing out the first pitch:

That alone could be worth the price of admission for fans.

Meanwhile, even manager Dave Roberts had trouble getting into the stadium because of the long queues.

“I’m just glad I made it,” Roberts said, per Scott Chiusano from MLB.com. “It’s unbelievable. I don’t know if it was Shohei or Decoy or a combo, but there’s a lot of demand for this damn bobblehead. It took me forever to get into Dodger Stadium.”

Ohtani’s dog’s popularity has grown since he unveiled his companion after accepting the 2023 American League MVP award. The four-time All-Star recently wore Decoy-inspired soccer cleats during MLB Players’ Weekend.

Though he won’t return to the mound until the 2025 season, Ohtani is in the midst of an incredible year at the plate. He’s hitting .294 with 41 home runs and 94 RBIs and has a National League-leading .994 OPS.

The 30-year-old also became the sixth player in MLB history on Friday to record at least 40 steals and 40 home runs in a single season.

Ohtani’s Dodgers career is off to an extraordinary start and it’s clear that fans are already crazy about him and Decoy.
