Diogo Costa makes incredible history at Euro 2024

It may not be far-fetched to say that Diogo Costa produced the best performance by a goalkeeper in modern history on Monday.

The Portuguese goalkeeper saved the match four times, once in extra time and three times in the penalty shootout, to send his country into the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, at the expense of Slovenia.

In doing so, Costa became the first goalkeeper in European Championship history to save three penalties and keep a clean sheet for 120 minutes. He also became the fourth player to save three penalties in all major tournaments (including the World Cup).
